Arthur Conlon’s Aboriginal Artwork uniquely combines creativity, culture and education. It presents schools with a tool to engage all students in key learning areas including art, literacy, numeracy, science and social studies.
The free flowing construct invites students to explore, create and respond to a diversity of genres by offering students an opportunity to explore, not only their own world perspective, but an Aboriginal context that can enrich and expand their holistic learning experiences.

The Aboriginal Artwork CD-Rom features interactive pages where students can create their own modern masterpiece replicating traditional Aboriginal art with the convenience of computer assistance. The CD is easy to navigate and students of all ages can follow the simple step-by-step instructions.
Students can create Dreamtime stories by selecting from a variety of beautiful backgrounds and adding Aboriginal inspired pictures of trees, animals, people and footprints – all skilfully drawn by Arthur. Original writing paper can also be created. The CD also features indigenous alphabet characters where students can write about their Dreamtime picture or create their own word picture.
Bookmarks, certificate borders and writing paper featuring Aboriginal graphics can be created, along with colouring-in stencils of various animals and images. ‘Mundai Art’ screen savers can also be downloaded.
The CD also features a map showing Aboriginal tribal lands across Australia, and a list of commonly used English words translated into the language of the Wakka Wakka tribe.
In the Aboriginal Artwork DVD, Arthur takes viewers on an adventure into creating ‘Mundai Art’. Along the way he tells a few stories that will inspire and engage the students as they see how easy it is to create their own Aboriginal artwork.
Arthur demonstrates different techniques that can be used to achieve various backgrounds and shapes using paints and pastels. He also makes a legend come to life as he takes viewers on a visual journey, showing how the lizard got its frilled neck.
